Loves of my life wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t add photography on that list! I’ve grown so much since I’ve picked up that camera. I’ve discovered new joys and overcome a lot of fears. It’s exactly what I’ve been searching for my entire life!

P.S. Just clarifying that I am not including myself as a love of my life, although I was having a fabulous hair day that fine day…

Ajax

This is the second love of my life although Scott would at times counter that Ajax is the true love of my life..eh who am I to argue with my husband? There are 2 groups of people I’ve encountered. The first group says, “You’re amazing! You named your dog after a computer programming language!” The second group says, “You must love to clean if you named your dog after the cleaning product.” It was neither. I named him after the mythological warrior who carried Achilles’s body back to camp. Not too fitting a name now since our 11 pound cat beats the snot out of him and regularly pins him to the ground so she can clean him. Poor little guy. He doesn’t stand a chance.

For the record I did NOT give him that binki. He stole it from my niece. Needless to say, I didn’t return it to her. Sometimes it’ll be months where I don’t see it and then one day he’ll come walking into the living room with it in his mouth and he’ll carry it with him for days afterward. At least I’m being prepared for a baby right?

I’m totally cheating on this since I didn’t take the picture. This is my brother who is on an LDS mission in the West Indies. Don’t worry, I didn’t know exactly where it was either. I had to grab the globe. To give you a hint though…it’s where The Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed! Gorgeous tropical weather, warm sandy beaches, lush green foliage. And it’s an English speaking mission. Sounds like a real trial huh? He’s been out almost a year and good grief I miss him! As much as I miss him I’m a million times more proud of him that he put his life on hold for 2 years in order to do something that was important to him!

I did however take this one!

Manti Temple

The Manti temple is neat for us because we and my parents got married in the Logan Temple and the Manti temple is an exact replica of the Logan Temple. Another neat thing is Scott’s parents got married in the Manti Temple because they wanted to get married in the Logan but it was closed. So I took this picture for them as a gift. These are available to purchase as prints.

Falling Leaves

Not only is this one of my favorite locations but it was taken at my favorite time of year. I’m terribly in love with fall. I love the crispness in the air, the cute jackets, boots, activities, cuddling, heavy bone crushing blankets on your bed, pumpkins, wool socks, scary movies (even though I never make it through them since I’m such a baby), the colors…everything! I’m already mourning it’s departure!

Salt Lake Temple

There is something about this building. Growing up I always thought it was a castle and I enjoyed going there with my family. Other than that I didn’t give it much thought. We were there over the summer and I met a man.
He came up to me and asked if he could pay me to take a picture of him in front of the temple. Of course I said no and I’d be happy to do it for free and we got talking. He was a recent convert to the LDS church. He’d given up everything he had so he could move to Utah. After hearing his story and struggles I was really reminded how grateful I should be that in any direction from my home I couldn’t go more than 100 miles without hitting a temple. Ever since I met him the Salt Lake temple doesn’t just register in my mind as just a beautiful building. It reminds me that I’m lucky to have something so dear to our members so very near to me.
