I hadn’t worked out the day of Hailey’s session but after chasing this fairy all around the huge park I felt like I had! She kept me on my toes for sure with how curious she was about everything! We played hide and seek in the tall grass, read every sign in the park and screamed every time we saw a bug, which I obviously didn’t do such a great job chasing them away from me because I got completely eaten by mosquitoes!! Hailey and I talked about her good friend, Tinkerbell, and she showed me how she could fly and in between all those activities she let me get in a few pictures and I had SUCH a hard time narrowing them for a sneak peek!! So these are my favorites and I hope they’re yours too!

Winter Wonderland

I remember when I was growing up my brothers and I anxiously awaited the first snowfall. We’d pile on our heavy coats and snow boots and race out to the backyard with my mom trailing behind us with the scarves and gloves that we’d forgotten in our haste. There was so much to be done, snowball fights to be won, snow forts to be built, snowmen and women to be married, guess who came up with that game…those are some of my favorite childhood memories.

Somewhere along the road of growing up I lost the excitement and joy of the snow. It became a car that needed to be shoveled off in the early and freezing morning, icy sidewalks that I slipped on and the gross slush that ruined my boots! But I’m happy to say that after watching these cute girls play in the snow and even getting in on the action a bit…oh yeah! I totally got owned by these two in a snowball fight! I feel a small bit of my childhood wonder of the snow returning!

By the way, I solemnly swear that I didn’t edit her eyes to be this vibrant of blue. They really are this gorgeous in person!

Cinderella/Gracie

Grace Marie, Grace Marie…what a busy bee you are! Gracie was my Cinderella and what a curious little girl she is! Half the pictures I got were of her looking around or running to investigate something, like the whereabouts of the wild bunny that she and I spent a good 15 minutes trying to catch in the beginning. BUT the other half of the pictures I got were gold! I love her stare with those deep eyes of her’s and I absolutely adore her giggling! She, on the other hand, loved the dress and gloves and thanked me many times for her “new pretty dress and new gloves”. After trying to explain to her they were just rentals I finally just nodded and said, “You’re welcome sweetie.” Thankfully she forgot all about the dress when I promised her ice cream after the pictures were over! haha

And just a few for Melinda. Thanks for letting me have her for the whole afternoon!

Adrie’s 1st Birthday

Combining two of my favorite things, Temptation cupcakes and cute babies, and I knew it’d be a great day! haha We’re technically cheating with this photo shoot because Adrie’s birthday isn’t until the end of December. But we wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather because we certainty couldn’t be doing this shoot in the dead of winter! Plus, ok…here’s a secret of mine. Once they hit the walking stage its such a new world to them and I end up getting more pictures of them running away from me than of their cute faces! So I try and schedule 1st birthday pictures before they’re actually 1. Adrie wasn’t a huge fan of eating the cupcake but she adored the messy frosting! It was everywhere, in her hair, in the necklace, the tutu, her toes and of course the floor!

This is Gracie Marie, Benjamin’s older sister. She is so so delightful! I’ve never met a little girl that has more personality! She had me laughing so hard that I started crying. No exaggeration! We didn’t end up getting many pictures because she was concentrating on what Ben was doing but I’m really excited for the rescheduled upcoming shoot that I have with her!
Don’t you just love her little face?!
And this is Grace with Allie. She loves Allie. So much that she insisted that the family didn’t need any pictures of Ben but they really needed pictures of Allie!
So of course, I complied! Haha

East…what can I say about this cutie?!? He was a bit cautious of me at first but after I had him jumping and rolling in the grass he totally Vogued it up for me! I have so many funny pictures of him cheesing and throwing his arm up in the air like he was a matador. I also have to give some love to that hair of his!! Loved it and love him!!

Miss Adrie Mae just had her blessing day set for June so she needed some new pictures to go along with the Blessing Invitations. She was all smiles and sat up SO well! She’s 5 months old but she’s been sitting with little help for a month. We piled some boppy pillows behind her and that was all the help she needed. So not only was I impressed with her being able to sit up so well but her eyes too! I will totally raise my hand and swear under oath that I didn’t do any editing to enhance her eye color! In some of the pictures I actually had to tone them down a bit because they photographed so brilliant and you’d all accuse me of over editing her eyes! haha

Smithfield Health Days

I had the opportunity to help with photographing Smithfield’s Health Days last weekend! I’d never been before and I had a bit of a struggle trying to find the place but I was pleasantly surprised to meet right off the bat a really sweet woman on our way into the fair grounds! People in Smithfield are super friendly! Although, I must admit that even though I was supposed to be covering a few events and the booths when I was editing my pictures I realized that 99% of my pictures were of kids! I guess it just confirms that I’m in the right genre of photography…Children! Here are a few of my favorites!

Oh my gosh! This girl is 11, that’s right ELEVEN! And she is this gorgeous! Why didn’t I look like this at her age?? Can you imagine the security system her parents are going to have to install when she’s getting close to dating age? All those boys are going to be lined up at her door just waiting!

We had so much fun with this shoot. I’ve been wanting to do a Princess and the Frog picture session for ages but I hadn’t had the right girl. I told her the idea and she was right on board! She gave me er opinion on the dress and I did her hair (although her mom did spend and hour curling it so I can’t take all the credit!) After I saw her I said, “Ashlee! You’re going to have to come up with a secret name because everyone is going to want you to model for them!” Without missing a beat she replied that she already had one, “Luna Salentine”. So…here’s so introducing Princess Luna Salentine and her handsome frog prince!

Have you ever noticed that boys almost always seem to be luckier in the beauty department than girls? They’re the ones that have those super dark and curly eyelashes , shiny thick hair or in these boy’s cases…they have the best skin! I’m obsessed with skin because that’s what I meter off of and that’s what I touch up to give that creamy feel to. They have such amazing skin (color and everything) that my editing…can we say almost nonexistent??

We had to get pictures on this awesome tire but I must admit I was probably more stressed out than their mom! They had to climb up this dirt hill to get to it and I just KNEW they’d be absolutely filthy when they got back down and if you’re a wife or mom you know what I’m thinking! Grass and dirt stains! But they got down and they weren’t too bad! Thanks Michelle for letting them get up there! lol

I had to add this one because it’s so cute and funny! I told them to look at each other and laugh. Tregan didn’t hesitate one second before he opened his mouth real big but no sound came out! He just sat there and pretended to laugh! Which made me laugh for real!!
